I agree with Charles, the B&W is the better version here. The lighting, especially in her hair, is lovely. I also like her pose and pensive expression. Well made, Maurizio, my friend!

Mi piace il taglio, i grigi e lo sguardo assorto della modella, si completano e si integrano a vicenda.

In bianco e nero probabilmente si sogna spesso e questa è una foto che fa sognare, ecco perchè preferisco la versione in B&N!

You deserve the 7 for this remarkable work my friend, indeed your lighting is so well set and the model is pretty and so well connecting with the viewers of this image, the contrast here and the tone are of very high quality.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Very good portret, great Angle and light.

Actually, i like the Color version more, Color version has more live inside.

Really nice work.

Maurizio,

I actually think both versions work very well. Veronika is a lovely looking girl. This is a beautifully soft pose. I love the feeling she is evoking. Your focus, the lighting, her expression, her skin tone, the nicely neutral background and Veronika's separation from the background are all excellent. She has a very nice catchlight in her eye.

I do think the highlight on her lower lip is a little hot. I would tone that down a tad.

She appears to be glancing a little toward the camera. If not making eye contact with the camera (viewer), the eyes should follow the line of the nose. It is natural to look where your head is pointing. If looking off to the side you should show what she is looking at or provide a reason that she is not looking where her head is pointing.

I would like to see a little more space in front of her. Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. By positioning the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph you not only have her facing into the picture, but you have good left and right compositional balance. This little rule almost always works well. At least it gives you a good starting point from which to subtly adjust your composition to make it visually balanced.

It would be quite appropriate to place your name on a mat surrounding your photograph.

Nice shot,

Mark

I love to see the B&W version;  it has got a lot of imaginary colors for every eye but that should be photographer!!!!!!......excellent ,  BRAVO ::::::::::::...

Maurizio,

This is breathtaking.  The black and white version is my favorite.  I suggest she have more room to look through - easy to do with a black background, a slight tonal readjustment to take care of some bright areas, trimming a few of the stray hairs, and certainly keeping your artistic signature in the corner, where it belongs.

Your portraits are more beautiful by the time passing by. This one is just...amazing: from composition to a very clever and excellent use of light. I prefer B&W image
