Northern Shrike in Flight

A predatory songbird, the Northern Shrike breeds in taiga and tundra

and winters in southern Canada and the northern United States. It

feeds on small birds, mammals, and insects, sometimes impaling them on

spines or barbed wire fences.

At first glance, it is diffucult to understand if this image is a ventral or dorsal position, only at larger view it is clear, fantastic image with wings and tail well spread, good the light and colours, ciao Giangiorgio

What a tough get.  Beautiful detail, and if they are like other shrikes I've seen, they don't just sit there and hover for you, nor do they fly in a straight line.  How did you get this?  It's a wonderful shot.
