Nice tones in the green. I think this photo would benefit from a clear blue sky (if that is possible in the Netherlands ?).

Ivan, blue sky ??? that's more an exception than the rule :-) Apart from that, I'm not in favour of digitally enhancing outdoor pictures into images far removed from reality. The world is grim, gray, or gay and anything in between. I take that for granted, and am not so romantically inclined as to feel an urge to create syrupy colouring when it wasn't there in the first place.

Sam, I really like this picture. I feel it offers a peaceful and serene feeling. It appears there is a mist in the distance which enhances the picture and the mood. Too bad I missed this spot during my visit to the Netherlands. I would like to see it when I return. Where is it located in relation to Utrecht?

So sick of these plastic sterile pics that hurt the eyes. They may rate high on TRP but big deal, they don't have soul and make u feel good. I tend to be caught in the middle of both worlds...myself i prefer low contrast and natural, but so many people act like theres something wrong with the work if you post like that....but like you imply..this pic portrays this place as it is most of the time, which has meaning. Glad i can enjoy this without wishing it was better.

Paul, thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and philosophy. I'm pleased you're enjoying some of my low light pictures from the Low Countries.

Joaquim, I'm pleased to read you've enjoyed some of the scenery of my country of birth. Cheers, Sam.
