jimmcnitt 0 Posted February 6, 2003 Hello Sam: Another beautiful image which plays on the viewer's expectations of color, lighting, depth and realism. One suggestion: Since the pure white background gives the impression of a hi-key photo, IMO the relatively hard side-lit shadows appear distractingly unnatural. I wonder if the scene wouldn't benefit from a gradient pale cream or gray background -- something that would maintain the delicate white-on-white feel of the Narcissus (sp?), not interfer with the shadow stalks, yet pull everything together so that foreground image doesn't look so much as if it were transplanted (pun intended) onto a white background.
