I like several aspects of this shot... There's a certain sterility in the room. The baren trees through the window echo the bleakness, and the pictures lined up on the sill echo the past life, now gone.

 

I like the lighting. I think it works well with the title. I think it could have been moved to the left to avoid the door on the right.

What a different portrait! I think the soft lighting coming through the window is excellent for this shot, you´ve got a great tonal grey range. The man is lighted enough to see the details, besides we see that he´s in the bedroomm, his own little home... There is just one thing that disturbs me, and it´s that area on the right, the door?

While everyone is admiring the artistic merits of your photos, I find them offensive and exploitive. It's obvious from the subjects lack of consciousness, that their permission for such pictures was not given. They are not trees or flowers, but human beings at the end of their days. If I am fortunate to live to such old age, I would not want a photographer flitting around my room to capture my lack of responsiveness for all to see.

Best of the roll. Very sad indeed! Shiny and empty chair desk makes this picture even more dramatic.
