Hi Charles.  Nice image.  Sharp too (no pun intended).  I'll guess that this is down at BC.  You're  a braver person than I am on the Sharpie vs. Cooper's ID.

Missed seeing you out at the old haunts.

Thanks Linh, Michael, Monte and Steve:  I was lucky enough to have this one visit my back yard around 7:30 am Saturday.  Needless to say the scrub jays weren't around for their morning handful of peanuts!

Hi Charles. MY punt from uk ( be nice now) is a sharpie.. slight fork tail not too long? comments from other serious birders and photographers are to be taken as a compliment regards miken

Hi Mike - thank you, and you make a good point about the tail, forked not rounded.  I believe this is an immature sharp-shinned and if so, immature cooper's' breast feathers from what I've seen just don't look like this guy's.  Sounds like others tend toward sharpie too.  And I do very much appreciate that serious birders and photographers take the time to both view and comment and rate.  It helps me a lot.  As an aside - I'm sure there are some birds in my birds folder that just aren't what I had thought they were when I posted them!
