deb1 0 Posted February 24, 2011 Trying to improve on my studio work. Please share your thoughts and suggestions while remembering I'm the photographer and model so all I can do is set up the lighting and pose within the frame of my lens and hope it all comes together in the end. Link to comment
raymondborg 0 Posted February 24, 2011 Nice portrait Deb. I would love to see the sweater separated from the background. Congrats. Link to comment
deb1 0 Posted February 24, 2011 I agree! I didn't think about that when I decided to stop by the studio and try out an idea I had dancing in my thoughts while I was out running some errands. I thought if only it had been a softer color sweater, it would have created a better separation. Thanks so much for your thoughts and suggestions, I'm really try to grow in this area and create portraits that are casual, yet a touch of formal blended in as well. deb Link to comment

deb1 0 Posted February 25, 2011 Thank you for your encouraging words and thoughts. When photographers I respect so very much (as you two) encourage my efforts, it really means so very much to me and my photography! deb Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted February 26, 2011 I think you got the lighting spot on! The soft sheen against your hair looks delightful, and the skin tones look natural. The black top is lost in the background as has already been indicated, but I like the white pillar as a prop, it would serve to reflect light onto the subject. The pose is good , but I think it would work better in a more close up composition. I think it's also fair to point out that your exposure was perfect too, not losing any detail in the stark white pillar. It's a really difficult task to undertake being both Photographer and model, and you have acheived a great deal here.Very well done Deb!Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 27, 2011 Both the lighting and pose here are of very high skill and as usual with all of your work, always superior, the b/w also a very wise choice while the contrast and tone are of very high quality and adding a great impact to the composition of this outstanding capture.Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. trisha jean-angela 5 Posted June 15, 2011 You have done a very lovely job with this self-portrait Deb; they are so very difficult to get right and so much to think about when you are both photographer and model. I think the lighting is really good and brings out nice detail; your skin looks great too! Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
