tim_ziegler 0 Posted February 26, 2011 I wanted to comment due to a rating I gave on this. I liked the lighting and composition and "parts" of the pose, but the hands seem very oddly held. The lighting of the hands also is a bit harsh for a girl and gives the the photo a rough feel which I think is the opposite of the rest of the photo. Not to get too critical (but I figure you wanted comments), the face (eyes) are a little too soft (blurred?). I do like the way the light drops off on her right side and I think the lighting setup was just about perfect.Tim Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted February 27, 2011 I am glad Tamarah mentioned the hands. There is something about them that makes this image captivating. I have clicked on it a few times but I don't know what to say. Definitely the hands... but why... I don't know. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted February 27, 2011 Tim - I'm pleased you spent enough time to get into these details, thanks. I commented on another image that I scan from B&W film and might have some issues with the worksflow that I will look into. It is interesting that the hands bother you as others seem to like them. It is a detail that creates different reactions in many people.Tamarah - I'm honored that you like my lighting of hands. Thank you, the comment made my day.David - I too like the hands, thank you. She, like many of my recent models, dances. Gestures of hands are so important in dance so maybe that's it.-Mark Link to comment
