The Toraja way of death is a fascinating mix of ritual, custom and belief. Coffins go deep

inside the caves and sitting on balconies in the rock face in front of the caves are Tau Tau.

They are made similar as the dead person, including the body, appearance and clothes.

Tau Tau is still an animism belief.

Thank you!

Again you have out done me ... I just need to go with you on travels and get some shots with you... That is really is the only way I can keep  up with you... It is another example of the vision and travels you have that you post on PN that really is more of a documentary of the world as much as a just photography... Remarkable and thank you for continuing to post your fantastic images.

Very interesting shot. It's an unusual photograph. Very well studied and wonderfully captured. The color tonality is also superb. Best regards.

A Fascinating insight into a different culture, I think it's a comforting idea to think that an effigy of yourself will continue to look out on the world when your times up.

Great thought provoking shot Anabela!
