Glettinganes
I have uploaded a better scanned image. Glettinganes is one of the most isolated place in Iceland. There are two ways to get there: One is sailing a long way in a small boat on an open sea (not easy to get someone to do that and the circumstances must be very good). The other one is hiking a long way and the last part, down there is very steep. Very difficult to get up again. Last time when I was there, was 1966. In those days my uncle was the Lighthousekeeper. We used to arrive in a small boat like we did this time. Today the lighthouse is driven by gas and the coast guard takes care of it. Copyright: Baldur Birgis
