GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted February 20, 2011 I love experimenting with images to use in Graphics applications. One of the biggest queries I've had is Type Fonts. I read that True Type Fonts are suppossed to be among the best for maintaining their Integrity when sizing an image, but I often wonder. If anyone knows, I'd love any information on this query. hstelljes 41 Posted February 20, 2011 Hello Gail, This is the first time I've seen you use B&W as the format for your image. I like the contrast and the presentation. You have also managed to keep soft tones. As always nice PP work. Take care and thanks for your recent visit.Best Regards,Holger Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2011 Of late for some strange reason I am insane over black and white works so much so I have convereted one of my 5D's into and IR camera to allow me to have a unique approach in black and white work. I think this image with the play and the process work does justice to black and white work but I think the image itself is well done and tasteful I admire the work and thought you put into all your images and your comments and your commitments... this is why I find a deep repect for your work and you... Your Mate down under MJ Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted February 21, 2011 It isn't often that I waunder over to black and white, don't know what I'm so scared of. Did this image back in the summer and didn't get up the guts to post until Sunday. Thankyou for your kind comments , I do apprecite them so much. Warm regards, Gail Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted February 21, 2011 Hey there MJ,I love black and white work, just have never done much of it, and as I commented to Holger, just haven't 'walked that way' very much ever. I take awhile to learn some things. Sounds like you're going to have a bit of fun with the camera you converted. Sounds really interesting, is it Digital???(my knowledge of cameras should be much better than it is seeing my Dad has so many). Finding the time right now has been difficult. I posted a bit more this week as I was a bit 'under the weather', my new Pup has been teething and poor thing has had a fever at times, just 'rangy' at times, and restless. So I worked on some images when I could, at night, so my husband could get a good nights sleep. I'll be trying more in black and white this year I think.Take care Mate....how warm is it down under these days??? Pretty cold here, cheers for now, Gail Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted February 21, 2011 Beautiful my friend, the b/w format is amazing here and changing the characteristic of this image into some thing very appealing and interesting, plus the quality of your light, your presentation is also adding a great impact to the skilled composition of this work.Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. dabar 0 Posted February 21, 2011 This is a very successful venture into new territory for you... I think. The separation or foreground and background is striking. You are definitely on-to-something with this concept...It might even work with color, such as with a monochrome background and a polychromatic foreground. This even took me back to a pub in Boston, that was near my office, called The Black Rose. ndj 0 Posted February 21, 2011 This is a gorgeous, elegant, composition Gail! Love the choice of B&W for this image. The presentation of this image takes it over the top! Beautifully done Gail!As for the font question - most printers use postscript type 1 fonts, with the multiple master series being the most desirable. True type fonts can apparently do anything that the postscript fonts can do only better, but there's a real lack of quality fonts available in true type. You can read more detail on fonts in this article: http://www.truetype-typography.com/articles/ttvst1.htmAll the best,Neil Link to comment
hamidfarzandian 0 Posted February 21, 2011 A different artful look of the beautiful roses, this time resulted from your p/p work and nice manipulation over colors and tones. You made it so more beautiful and fabulous! Bravo.Hamid. Link to comment
