sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted February 20, 2011 Beautiful lighting. A striking portrait. The color-effect and the horizontal format made the composition dramatic. Regards. Link to comment

drkallol 0 Posted February 20, 2011 Nice potrait. But here I think the colour tone is a bit warm (may be due to my monitor).I liked the B/W version rather. My best regards.Kallol Link to comment
gallego 1 Posted February 20, 2011 Buen color. Pero yo prefiero la version b/w. Saludos Link to comment
3m 0 Posted February 21, 2011 Amal -- A very nice portrait of Nuliya indeed! I personally like the colored version and its crop better. (& the B&W feels a bit too tight for me) Although I like the soft yellow ( early evening?) light, I wonder what would happen if you were to desaturate it just a tad..? (I feel that the yellow hue is a bit too strong...) I very much like the mood you captured in your photo nonetheless. Kind regards to you, Marjolein Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted February 21, 2011 Although it needs some 'air to breathe' I prefer the b/w version because of the sharpness and and tonality achieved. Compliments Amal! Link to comment
dandem 1 Posted February 22, 2011 GREAT portrait, A.K. The expression...priceless. Well done, my friend. Regards, Lawrence. Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted February 22, 2011 Kallol, your monitor is O.K.Perhaps I am becoming colour-blind. Many thanks for pointing out the loud colour of the sand. Unless you point out my mistakes, how shall I learn. Marjolein, it was early morning. The fisherman was gazing at the sea. The background colour is that of sand. Many thanks for your suggestion. I tried to desaturate the color. Is it better now? Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 22, 2011 The slight desaturation was a good idea. Not only did it soften the background but it revealed more of the face which I thought was a bit muddy in the original version. Link to comment
Anabela Sequeira 0 Posted February 23, 2011 For me both versions are appealing. Nicely done! Link to comment

3m 0 Posted February 23, 2011 Hi again, Amal -- I think that it does look better. Although I personally would go even a tad more :-) (But that's just my personal feeling & I totally understand if one doesn't agree with that) I hope that you don't mind my upload of this version; I desaturated (just the yellow tones) by - 15) Best regards, Marjolein Link to comment
