I love to shoot subjects like this.  I think many flowers and plants in general have more character in death than in life.  I recommend slightly increasing the contrast and darkening the levels to help eliminate the slight washed out look.  I would also try playing with the saturation a little to see if you can bring out more color contrast.  The shallow DOF works well here and adds depth to the image.
