Not Here 93 Posted February 19, 2011 A study in generational contrasts and the art of aging gracefully :-). Nice shot of the "rat", poor little guy trying to sleep and she's not quite practiced in how to hold a dog. A much deeper shot than my skimming comments and an excellent street photograph... nickjeftic 0 Posted February 19, 2011 Another wonderful work of social commentary Bob!Aging gracefuly compared to ungracefuly fighting off age.The "young" woman like a pharaoh of old, mummified and holding symbols of our age: a "child"surogate and "social life" substitute. Link to comment
DawsonPointers 362 Posted February 19, 2011 Love it. Many interpretations: Chihuahua as rat; woman as being former rug-rat.The caption could also have been 'A mother's love'. Just like your caption, Bob, that would work on several levels. That has nothing to do with your excellent photographic technique, upon which you are probably asking for comment.Great shot. Very affective. Thanx for posting it. You are boldly documenting what is going on in society today. I hope it does not turn you into a cynic!Regards, John. Link to comment
hans11664883765 0 Posted February 19, 2011 To me it looks like the dog is a fashion accessory, not a beloved pet.Great capture as usual! Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted February 19, 2011 Indeed a great capture in all details. There's a slightly comical angle to the young ladies posture and the "rat" - but all in all: how vain are her fashionable attempts...Adding to Hans: seeems the more beloved pet is her cellphone cradled in her left hand ;-)cheers, Wolfgang Link to comment
rconey 295 Posted February 20, 2011 Not to be disrespectful, but the knees are the focal point of this image. Other attributes are mere distractions. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2011 Well it has always been said that eventually people and their pets start resembling each other. I think these two are there.I agree about the knees. Her legs are like twigs and those knees really protrude out. You could fix them in PS I guess but then you would be getting into that gray area of whether or not you should modify a photo in that way. Regardless, I fixed them anyway just for fun!☺ Link to comment
