Excellent portrait, wonderful location. I might have opened up the lens a bit to give some blur to the background.

This is a lovely portrait of Hana, a terrific use of the tree as framing for the subject. The lighting is very flattering and the straight line formed by her arms is a good contrast to the "V" made by the tree branches.

She is still a little too centered if you ask me. You might want to offset her just a little more to the left to place her closer to a vertical third.

The last thing, and in my opinion at least, the most serious drawback of DX format cameras, is the lack of depth of field control. This is why I will never own a DX format camera. Because the background is a little busy, and due to the somewhat long depth of field, it competes with the viewer's eye for attention. It can be fixed in Photoshop, like I did, but it will still look better if it is done in the camera. So many of today's zooms are slow, and even one stop down, have significant depth of field at the shorter end of their range. For that reason, it is often better to use a longer, preferably a faster prime, lens and shoot only 1 stop down to minimize this. For a shot like this, a lens equivalent to a 135mm on 35mm/FX would do the trick nicely. I have been known to go as long as my 180mm f/2.8 ED AIS Nikkor around f/4 and trigger the fill flash using a wireless trigger, so I can really isolate the subject from the background.  I also richened the tones just a bit to give it more depth.
