Large whole fish, small whole fish and cut up fish -- this streetside fish

market offers tubs and boxes of fish, with their shiny scales and widely

varying textures and tonalities. I could almost 'feel' them by looking at

them (and even by looking at this photo afterward). Your ratings,

critiques and remarks are invited and most welcome. If you rate

harshly, very critically, or wish to make a remark, please submit a

helpful and constructive comment; please share your photographic

knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

It was icy cold outside, the fish were fresh and not one fishy smell could be detected -- smell was not an issue to interfere with this display of shapes and tones.

Salmon are commonly sold in Ukraine, farm raised from the Baltic countries, or salted heavily and sold cold in plastic packs in supermarkets -- but consult your cardiologist before weighing the good benefit of salmon with all the salt bring used to preserve the latter.

The fresh fish is usually quite good/often farmed Atlantic salmon but the Pacific varieties are sometimes seen, though expensive.

Americans are not taught that Pacific salmon grows up in streams on both sides of the Pacific and migrates across the Pacific.   I  grew up in the US Pacific Coast thinking Pacific salmon were a US Pacific Coast 'original', when in fact they ring the Pacific's cold, northern waters.
