The other day, I was pondering the intelligence of crows and what

might happen if you showed a photo of a crow to a crow.

I decided to go spend sometime with them to find out.

The ravens are being neglected as a subject of the art and that isn't right! My daughter told me about the raven in our ZOO who was acting very friendly and was very diligent! IE, the food and everything people gave him he was putting in some hiding place in his cage and rushed back to get some more!

Hi Tiffany, long time no see my friend! Howdy?

Thanks Pierre...you know how I love crows. Quite fascinating animals. Ubersmart ...they remember faces too. So, your daughter's friend may tell his friends about her and her generosity. They are great subjects for art too, because there are so many. The trick is getting them to reveal themselves to you...that's the fun part!

Some of the fantasy worlds you create fascinate me, especially because I know I can't do stuff like this.  This one is a prime example.  The colours are deep and rich, the preciseness of the brickwork is gorgeous.  The crow has a suitably inquisitive expression.  I get the impression he has finished looking at the portrait on the right and has turned his attention to the other one, as if trying to decide which he likes better.

From what I've learned about crows, they are one of the few birds that can see in colour, and can actually pick out the shape of a human from confusing surroundings...and can actually recognize different human faces.

Lovely and interesting work here.

Thank you for your visit, Jim. Very appropriate observations! I am sure you can see that I am quite obsessed with these birds. They are fascinating. Uber smart...yes, they remember individual faces. They can solve problems with multiple steps. They mate for life. They have funerals for their departed crows. They are just amazing. So, I thought...what if you showed a crow a picture of a crow? And then I had some fun. One of these days, I will go back to this image and correct the shadow placement.
