jim_j2 9 Posted February 12, 2011 Tim, Makes me think of some of the Moon shots from the past, only in color! I can just imagine the "Rover & the Astronaught." Regards, Jim j. Link to comment
jmarcraveau 0 Posted February 13, 2011 I like the blue tone of the image. It really gives the feeling of cold. Regards, Jean-Marc. Link to comment
tholte 16,677 Posted February 15, 2011 Yes it is Linda (Milwaukee lakefront)! A 23 year old man just died yesterday from almost this exact same spot when he and his fiance were taking engagement photos of themselves. A chunk of ice he was standing on broke off and he was unable to get pulled out of the water in time. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted February 15, 2011 Oh Tim, that is terrible about the young man! I sincerely hope you stay safe when you are out photographing this lake. I grew up in Michigan, but about 100 miles from the lake, so we never took any winter trips there. I don't remember ever seeing the kind or snow/ice stuff that almost looks like flocking on the surface on any of the lakes around where I grew up. Link to comment
tholte 16,677 Posted February 16, 2011 Linda, the big ice wall formed during the blizzard two weeks ago when it was very cold. The temperature was 45F yesterday so the ice is starting to break up and collapse. It took the rescue squad twenty minutes to get him out and it was too late. Link to comment
