johne37179 29 Posted February 11, 2011 I like the high key approach. It would be useful to have he technical exposure data included in the details. That is how we all learn from each other. Link to comment
ArtLionse 0 Posted February 11, 2011 Hi John,The shot was taken on a white b/g with 2 flashes, one lighting the background the other the flowers. Exposition was as follows: 1/6s f/13 ISO200 with EF50mm f/1.4 lens.Hope you find it helpful.Art Link to comment
johne37179 29 Posted February 11, 2011 Thanks. I couldn't tell whether or not it was shot against seamless in a studio setting or the result of Photoshop. Very nice job. While it is hard to judge on the PN small images -- which tend to make whites hotter -- I can't tell how much real detail remains in the vase or the forward white rose. Many years ago I used to do merchandise shots like this for the mail order business. It is a challenging shot to light. Link to comment
gsaphoto 2 Posted February 11, 2011 Nice shot, composition... next time just try to avoid direct flash, make it bouncing from ceiling or walls... it will help avoid hot sports on leafs and petals... but, overall nice work...Grigoriy Link to comment
ArtLionse 0 Posted February 11, 2011 Thanks Grigoryi, in fact used bouncing on ceiling here and found those reflexions adding to the high key, but will get a softbox soon... Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted February 19, 2011 This is simply so beautiful ! I once worked in a China shop, and this image would really be attractive on a China dessert or cake plate. Beautiful editing on your part Art. I can also see this 'framed' as a Boutanical Print, would be just lovley. Very good work, most sincere regards, Gail Link to comment
