The blur was done in camera. I was intrigued by this walnut

plantation, and I wanted to enhance the vertical aspects of the image.

Please let me know if you like this treatment. Thanks!

Amazing! Simple composition, I mean not many different elements, but so well blurred and colored, it's really amazing! Bravo Christal!

Christal...  Not only are you a cat gut scratcher, you're an artist too.  An excellent example of abstract realism.  Something I admire, but can't seem to pull off.  Good one!.... Mike

Pierre......so good to hear from you!  Thanks for your kind remarks!  I want to get over to your portfolio and check out what new masterpieces you have!

Mike.....cat gut scratcher???  Well, you knew you'd get a laugh out of me with that!  Don't you know they don't use cat gut for strings anymore?......they're all synthetic.  But I'm sure you actually knew that.  Thanks for the laugh!.....and the compliment!  Now for your comment about not being able to 'pull it off'.......this is the simplest thing in the world.  Really!  All I did was move my camera rapidly from high to low (I tried a couple from low to high as well), so that the camera is already in motion when you release the shutter.  You'll get lots of terrible shots, but if you're patient, you can get some really great effects too.  I think the secret is to find the right subject(s)......repeated patterns or lots of similarly shaped objects work best, I've found.  Good to hear from you......thanks!

Well done Christal. Good to see that you are trying new things. I have played around with this technique quite a bit and yep...some shots aren't worth much but others are great. Hope you and Norm are well

Warmest regards, Pamela

Yes, I think it may actually have been your portfolio that gave me the idea!  :-)  You have some great shots that are similar as I recall.  Hey, did I tell you that I'm going to be a grandma?  In June......a girl.  I'm so excited!  Our daughter is flying home this weekend from Calgary for a baby shower.  Anyway, that's off topic, I know.....forgive me.....I'm just excited!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christal - let me correct that. Very well done!!! You have struck a chord that is off the scale. The cropping and blurred effect take what I am sure was a solid shot to begin with to a whole new level. Show us more. Best, Jeff
