Great shot and timing , nice use of selective focus, the DOF is right, gives a sense of three dimensionality to this image.

A good one, Niki..!  Perfectly timed.  I very much like your overall composition and the selective focus as well. Did you crop this at all? (looking at the flying bird's reflection) It should also work nicely in B&W, imo -- & maybe worth a try..?  Best regards to you, Marjolein

Great capture, the bird attempting to fly or just landing and his reflections on the water is very impressive here, you lighting is also superb and do add o the high quality of the this image.
