Wondering if post processing soft focus and low contrast for pastel

coloring makes it a pretty picture? Thanks for comment, critiques.

Works very well for me as pictorial/fine art! Nicely presented. I like the curves and lines working together to direct the viewer's gaze.

Charles, I'm not sure this particular image works for me. I think there is too much going on. Having said that, I'd sure try this about a 1000 more times because there certainly is something worth working on here.

The finch needs more isolation. Maybe a tight vertical crop.

Thank you for your inputs.  A tighter vertical crop may work better.  It is in the original a bird obscured by intervening leaves, but the pastels caught my eye.  Putting more emphasis on the bird:  I can see merit to that.  Yet as such it is not a particularly good shot of a finch.  Not sure if there is a solution here.

A tighter crop changes this to an out of focus picture. The soft focus and the pastel shades are the subject, almost as much as the bird or even more. You may crop a bit of the blue sky since it is brighter and too saturated, but no more.
