When this man told me he wo'nt object me taking his photo I was so

excited I forgot to check ISO and expo..so there it is...

He was sitting in a corner of the fisherman club behind the windows on both walls...

Outstanding portrait work, the details here are remarkable and so the skin tone which is of very original nature, the smoke over running over the faced do add a great credit to the composition also.

What's wrong with the ISO sped? You obviously have firm hands and when you shoot don't pull, but squeeze! And maybe your elbows were on the table which is as a good as a mono pod! Cheers my friend!

I love how the smoke obscures and lights up his eye.  It almost flickers like neon.  What a character.

I think this portrait works anyway Vlad. He's a very real and natural looking individual and I think the smoke in the eyes makes that point even more. A good portrait even if you did rush. Take care.

Vladimir, It's a great portrait of a wonderful character. I really like the yellow in the background with the blue of the eyes. 

I don't know what you are apologizing for?! It came out excellent as it is! The high contrast produces a very nice light oval frame around his head enhacing his chubby features and the piercing blue eyes have a strong dark background to stand against. The cigarete smoke is a extra treat....

It maybe wouldn't pass as a passport photo but it sure does as an artistic one... ;)
