angela_carter 0 Posted January 23, 2003 Too much post processing for my taste. Doesn't look real, but a interesting model. Likes the original better (exposure wise). The cropping looks nicer in the retouched photo. Link to comment
fmueller 84 Posted January 24, 2003 IMHO you overdid it a little with the sharpening. The skin and eyes look kinda unnatural. I prefer the original - the tilted horizon works surprisingly well. Link to comment
beau 1664876222 1 Posted January 24, 2003 I like it alot as a portrait. Her body language is a very confident "look at me!" but then there's something about her mouth that seems to reveal the insecurity (or whatever it is) that makes people want to join cults. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted January 24, 2003 Mixed feelings between the original and this one. The eyes look more attractive here and the rotated cropping is better. But in the original I prefer the tone and the vertical format. But always on the basis that it's a lovely one! Link to comment
jimvanson 0 Posted January 25, 2003 Frank...I was wondering about the oversharpening; if anyone would call me on it. I did the same thing with the photo I posted after this one...Dancin' Dan The Courier Man 1997. I've found that you get a distinct and interesting look with the oversharpening...I'm kind of surprised no one else has noticed or commented on it...I'm wondering if people don't notice it or if they see it as being just another tool...has anyone else have an opinion on it? abintraphoto 0 Posted January 25, 2003 I like the composition and tones of this version but without the over-sharpening ..................... I suspect, like me, you had no comments on the sharpening effect because it looks like a unique skin disorder caused from photographing tooo many egggs ........................ (-; Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted February 8, 2003 Hi Jim, I am not sure if I am qualified to comment on your photos because I think your work is marvelous. And I am not at your league, yet. In regards to oversharpening... recently I have used the unsharp mask and then followe with smart blur. I really seem to like that effect. One brings out the details in the eyes, while the other softens the skin. Cheers, Ringo Link to comment
