I love the composition, I don't like the lighting. The white looks too gray. It looks like fake snow.  The green looks too dark, gray or black in some areas.  The DOF is too shallow for a composition like this I think.  It leaves the needles looking fuzzy without adding anything to the overall composition.

Yes, maybe you're right. If I look closer, they indeed seem a little too fuzzy. Personally I like the colors.

There wasn't that much light getting to the needles and the snow on them, that is why they look gray. The light was coming from the left side and I was actually under the tree. I shot this looking up.
