samrat 1 Posted January 29, 2011 Thank you. That was reassuring. I'm now looking at the histogram more (in fact this was the first time I paid as much attention to it). Link to comment
johncrosley 0 Posted February 16, 2011 It is just this sort of analysis that Meir Samel is so good at, which is why I made the introduction. He has a serious interest in tonalities and in fulfilling the 'broad range of Exposure Values (EVs)'; work written about in exhausting detail and encyclopedically by Ansel Adams. I tend more to creating 'the image' and if it also has a broad range of EVs, then that's a major plus. Cartier-Bresson, who shot mostly in sunlight (certainly not always), and most often at least in daylight except for indoor portraits, called himself the 'master of grays'.There is no 'hard and fast' rule. Do what's best; but just know what the choices are.I hope all is well.johnJohn (Crosley) Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted March 23, 2011 Samrat, I learn from the discussions of Meir & John. It would be prudent on my part not to make vapid comment. Is this your study room? If so, I admire your quest for knowledge. Link to comment
