Red Leaf on Slate

This is a simple but powerful shot, Garry. The dull background of the slate helps to strengthen the powerful dark reds on the leaf. I also love how the lines on the leaf are complimented by the lines on the slate, as if implying a natural order of some sort. Overall, the image is pleasing to look at and very well done.

The leaf had fallen nearby naturally, but there was a stain on the slate at that place, so I bumped the leaf over with my foot, and then walked around it looking for an angle, and this seemed to work. I liked the way the angles worked. :)

Yea, the lighting and shadows really helped to improve the quality of this shot.

Great shot, really nice composition with strong contrast in colors and in the lines of the tiles and the leaf.
