twgomez 0 Posted January 28, 2011 I'm not sure I would have noticed the bee if it were'nt in the title. I like the colors and the composition of the flowers. I like the DOF with the middle in focus and the rest blurry. The bee in the out of focus section is actually a bit distracting for me. Overall very nice! Link to comment
bethsides 0 Posted January 28, 2011 I agree with Tim, the bee should be clearly in focus, or, smudge the little fella out. The rest of the selective focus is utterly beautiful. I would like to see it without the thin line of pink(ish) at the top. All in all, this is quite remarkable.Beth Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted January 30, 2011 I didn't notice the bee either, but what I did notice was the excellent DOF because that is what drew me in. The blur and softness of the flowers, along with the light, makes this a very nice photo. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)I just love lavender... You should take in the fragrance of my garden in the spring with the roses, lavender and orange blossoms; it is pure heaven! Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted January 30, 2011 No blurry bees! Actually, I prefer the bee blurry. Nice blur all around, and nice to have something closer than the plane of sharp focus. best, j Link to comment
iliafarniev 13 Posted January 30, 2011 Thanks, folks. Appreciate your comprehencive comments and kind attention. Well. This shot IMO has just happend to be one-of-a-kind kind and in this sense decided not to edit the bee off but put the word in the title instead -- just the way it is. Some attempt on making attraction out of indefinite visual complexity if your will. Thanks, again. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted February 9, 2011 The way you've combined focused and out of focus gives the impression that the lavender are blowing in the breeze. Nicely done. Link to comment
