johnborg 0 Posted January 26, 2011 Hi Linda! I like these kind of nature shots. Simple, but draws the eye to what is usually unnoticed to us. Very well blurred background isolates the subject effectively. May I suggest cropping a bit from the right and a bit from the top. Just my opinion. Well seen and presented. Warmest wishes...JB Link to comment
paulpluskwik 0 Posted January 26, 2011 Linda, I enjoyed your photo , but was going to suggest cropping the right and top, only to find out that the other persons critique mentioned the same thing. take care, nice shot. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted January 26, 2011 Thanks for the advice. Two comments expressing the same thought must be right. I will crop it as you suggested, but I don't think I will re-post it. Best wishes, Linda Link to comment
gsaphoto 0 Posted January 27, 2011 Hi Linda. You did it very well... especially with blue cast on background, that pop-up those fragile branches... for me it looks like morning hours...Also, thank you for your recent comments,Grigoriy. Link to comment
ndj 0 Posted January 27, 2011 Excellent capture of this cool subject Linda! I think all these ice crystals is one of my favorite things about cold winter days. Beautiful detail in these ice crystals is highlighted nicely by the superb contrast against the darker background. Well done! All the best,Neil Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted January 28, 2011 So delicate that even a breath would make this disappear. The blue blurred backdrop is wonderful. Link to comment

t37traveler 0 Posted January 29, 2011 Linda- I'd like to see a little more contrast between the foreground and the background - the frozen grasses need a little more light and life to really stand out - as if the sun were hitting them a little more directly. I guess I'm looking for "pop." Link to comment
karolostrivizas 0 Posted January 29, 2011 You creatively converted this simple close up Linda to an artistic abstract image.....The darker blue b/g accentuates the pale cyan of the well written ice in the branches.... Also excellent winter atmosphere....Warm congrats my friend...and 7....rate... Link to comment
krpradu 125 Posted January 29, 2011 The blue tone color comes to enhance this image, and frost looks better so,croping will make this more attractive and well ballance,my best regards. Link to comment

Christal1664882414 0 Posted February 14, 2011 I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. I know you said you weren't going to re-post your revision, but I wonder if you've considered rotating the image as well? It's not better certainly.....just another possibility. I do think a crop and a bit of brightening would enhance this already lovely shot. The color is remarkable! I do love these winter ice and frost opportunities for photography, but enough is enough and I'm ready for spring now! :-) BTW.....Happy Valentine's Day! Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted February 15, 2011 Crystal, I love your version! When I was shooting this I took many shots from different angles, up close and not so close. I didn't think of rotating it in photoshop though. A simple rotation gives it an altogether new feel. Thanks for giving me a different and excellent new perspective. This was shot in the desert mountains behind my house. You can see in the blurred background how the sun was peeking up behind a snow dusted hill. When I look at it here I think maybe it is too bright, over exposed, blown out, although I didn't think so when I posted it. What do you think? Link to comment
