joelguindon1 0 Posted February 9, 2011 Very captivating, I looked at it for quite a while and it just keeps pulling me back in. Shadows are amazing. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted February 11, 2011 Joe, The fact that you're the only person to have commented on this photo thus far isn't the least bit surprising to me. It's a very simple photograph, it's "been done" a gazillion times...but that doesn't diminish the fact that like you, I love the effect of the shadows...combined with the light striking the side of the building. How many time have we heard that photography is all about "the light"? But is it not just as much about "the absence of light"...as in, shadows...for instance? This picture brings together light, shadows, and architecture, specifically ...the skyscraper. I've had a fascination with skyscrapers ever since I was a small child, and during my teenage years...strongly considered becoming an architect. But things changed, I didn't become an architect...I just take pictures of buildings that interest me...when I get the chance. From a technical perspective...this one is seriously flawed (distortion from a cheap lens that i couldn't seem to correct very well) ...but to be honest, I couldn't care less. I just like the way it looks....and apparently, so do you. Thank you for saying so... Regards, John Link to comment
