Rope and Rust: Cropped Version

full frame, but this is cropped

Good colour,texture and composition.

I liked this photo so much at first sight. On the other hand something bothered me. I new at a glance that it was the slanting cable and the overly white and strict horizontal line. I removed the cable and moderated the line. Then the strict rectangular appeared to be the distracting. This was the only solution I could think of at the moment. Tell me what do You think, Robert.

My bad, I should have been more specific.

 

The strong diagonal pulls the eye into a corner, which is genrally not a good idea. I think I'd crop a bit further . . just above the little rust spot on the right. . . but this is really justa nit pick. The straight horizontal was my bigger concern.

I immediately liked this. Captured so well! Nice composition.

Great composition and exposure. First I thought the rope was distracting. But I think I like the 3D feel it adds. I think the image would look certainly better if it were framed (prefferably black).
