starvy 7 Posted January 23, 2011 It feels rather unusual to see a hirsute model. That in itself brings in the element of vintage. As a genre that is rather interesting. I am finding your lighting to be slightly on the brighter side for my taste. Others might like it but I am seeing it as just a little overexposed. This could have been compensated by increased sharpness or greater contrast.I am reminded of the Far-East for some strange reason when looking at this. Link to comment
DawsonPointers 362 Posted January 24, 2011 Great natural photo. What would happen if the model was shifted a little to the right? To me, it would give more space for the model's form to curve around adding to the 'organic' feel of this photo. Just a thought. Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted January 24, 2011 I like it Mark... everything about it. The uniqueness of her hair, the pose, everything. As far as I'm concerned, it's a wall hanger! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 258 Posted January 24, 2011 I like that the model is "hirsute"! Yes, unusual, but unusual may mean original too! And I see it as natural! Great nude, great indeed!PDE Link to comment
rosenborgfoto 0 Posted January 24, 2011 I would have prefered it a bit darker on the right side of the photo and her body creating more shadow/light to explore. Other than that I love the fact that she´s an all natural woman and such a beautiful and welcome change to all the glamourous strangelooking women looking like a-sexual beings with no natural hairgrowth and full of silicone everywhere.. plasticbeings where this is the real thing. Congratulations! Most nudeshots don´t tell a story or give room for critique of our society and time but this does:-) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 24, 2011 It is delightful to see a natural woman for a change, especially one in such a classic pose. Link to comment
John Peri 1,007 Posted January 24, 2011 I have always felt that other people's personal habits are none of our business, and I am a little surprised by the outpouring of liturgy in this area and beyond, I really feel that we should keep our hangups to ourselves, particularly in reference to the modern woman.A classic pose as Robert rightly says that is reinforced by the expression of the model and that leads to a very pleasing effect. Two things come to mind, a little more contrast possibly and, given the vintage mood expressed, a more representative setting than a white background. But I am describing another photo and do not wish to infringe on the fine qualities of this one. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 24, 2011 Perhaps if I were to say, removing the creases from the backdrop would help the image, you might think I had gone mad. However, as observers of images it is sometimes difficult to separate the image from the subject.I think this is one of your best. I will simply say I like it. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted January 25, 2011 Thank you all for the comments. Some thoughts to some of you in reply:Starvy - I see it more as high-key. I did photograph her against both this white and a black background. They are different certainly but both good.John Rowsell - I see your point and have made some photographs like that but that is not the idea I was going for here. Thank you for the thought.Michael and Pierre - Thanks again.Annemette - I actually would have preferred that the background be all white but I appreciate your thoughts. Each woman I have photographed brings her personnality to the session and, regardless of body type and modifications or lack of the same, is unique and a terrific subject. I pick my subjects from referals or by what I see or read in their on-line profiles. The results are more due to how we get along then anything physical in the end.Robert - Thanks.John Peri - I am usually equally bothered by comments on the physical attributes of a model. These are rarely helpful and can only hurt the women who are willing to be our subjects revealing so much of their bodies. In this case her body hair, unusual especially in the US, is an element in the composition and is worth discussing as such. The rest is off limits as far as I'm concerned. As I said above, there are others I will post later that are against a different background and with other lighting effects.David - I don't disagree about the wrinkles. Next time I'll add light on the backdrop which will flatten it out visually. I am happy that you like the overall image.-Mark Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 25, 2011 The comment about the wrinkles wasn't meant to be taken too seriously. Just to make it clear... I like this an awful lot. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted January 25, 2011 David - I understand but do wish they weren't there.-Mark Link to comment
Elstad 3 Posted January 25, 2011 A classic nude, well done! To continue a thread... Back in the deep depths of time, way back before seeingly all women shaved, it was rather exciting to see a bald mons pubis. Now I find it exciting to see a woman who doesn't shave. I've fallen in love with arm pit hair too I have and I suppose it is because you never see it on women in the U.S. Cheers, Raymond Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted January 26, 2011 Raymond - I'm pleased you like this photograph as well as the others of Kari Marie. Although her physical appearance was a part of what caused me to book a session with her, it was her wonderful personnality and hard work that resulted in me being able to make these images.Giorgio - I hope you like the photograph too.-Mark Link to comment
giorgiomarino 0 Posted January 26, 2011 Of course i like the picture, even thought i found a little burn the right leg. In my opinion, the version shifted to right, is better than centered. The shifted version give more than a simple portrait of a beautiful woman, is more dynamic and agreeable. Regards. Giorgio Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted January 26, 2011 Giorgio - Thank you. As I said previously I appreciate the comment on the reframed image but like the one I presented.-Mark Link to comment
human images 2 Posted August 25, 2011 I like this in part cause it takes to another aesthetic. Another time where I’m invested, and i find it a gift to see a healthy bush stand out amidst an endless parade of pre-pubescent, anemic pussies. I applaud the attractive model; her presence is strong and asserts itself unaided by gimmicks. Kari Marie is terrific, and your pictures serve her well. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted August 26, 2011 Carlos - I appreciate your thoughts, thank you. I happen to prefer that proper terminology be used to describe body parts, but understand what you mean. I was excited to work with Kari especially because of her natural look.-Mark Link to comment
human images 2 Posted August 26, 2011 proper terminology... ;-)))... body parts???? are you fucking joking? What specific word ruffle your sensibility, anyway... Bush? Pussy? I mean, tell me it ain't so Mr. Harris... ;-) Link to comment
