Greet Leonid,

Portrait is fine truthful, very good is formulation passion, such as inexplicit expectation thing next....Everything good.

Leonid,

Diana is a very pretty girl. You have focused well on her eyes. I am not quite sure what her expression is telling me, but it is pleasant. Perhaps she is a little unsure what she is seeing. She does seem to be concentrating on whatever it is. I'm not sure I would have cropped into her hand, but it is not real distracting. Her fingers are positioned very well on the glass. I love her long slim fingers -- very photogenic hands. Her earrings and necklace go very well together.

Her make-up looks nice, but she is dressed for cocktails and a little more make-up might look more appropriate. I would like to see a closer match in lipstick to her fingernail polish. It would give her a well-coordinated -- well put together -- a completed look. A little eyeliner under her eyes would frame them and help to make her eyes stand out better.

Be careful of split profiles. You do not want the tip of her nose to come close to touching the far cheek line. You want to make sure the far eye is either completely showing or not showing at all. You do not want to have the bridge of her nose cut into her far eye.

The lighting is quite flat. Shadows can add interest and help to create a nice illusion of depth within your photograph. Notice that her catchlights are quite far into the whites of her eyes. It would be better if they were at about the 10 or 2 o'clock position on her irises. To do this you would want your main light above, in front and to the side of her face. This would also give her some shadows on her face.

The overall tone, especially on her face, seem a little too warm (yellowish). I would cool it down a bit.

It is too bad that the brightest light in the background is right behind her left eye. It is a tad distracting.

I would crop a smidgen off the left side so that she had even a bit more room in front of her than behind. I would want her to face more into the picture -- just a little more.

Nice shot,

Mark
