nick_cherry 0 Posted August 13, 2005 Nice one! It's so magic, and you do all to show it! Great photo! Link to comment
haleh b 0 Posted April 25, 2006 Okay since you asked here it is. I am going to use this image as an example of what I see as a flaw. Is this what you refer to as diffused lighting? Photography as far as I am concerned is about individuality and style. I personally am not interested in any work that does not reflect individuality. This is your idea of good lighting and mine is different from yours. Am I going to tell you what to do to correct it? The answer is no. I must respect the fact that you obviously are happy with it. The critiques on this site are all about likes and dislikes. All the best to you in your creative expression. Link to comment
daviddbfotoart 0 Posted April 26, 2006 No Haleh, you still dont get it. The idea of this forum is to give a critical analysis on what I feel about a photograph and what I would do to improve what I percieve as faults. What you can do with this advice is ignore it or take it on. Please ignore what I have said in the true spirit of this forum if it doesn't make you happy. I find the majority of your work superb and you could publish a book for my coffee table, and you wouldn't ask for my opinion! I trully dont understand why you feel you need to be inflammatory. PS, this shot was taken many years ago, with a 40 year old camera, with vaseline on the lens...not diffused lighting. I stupidly put the vaseline directly on the lens and not on a filter, and spent the next 2 weeks trying to get the shit off. Link to comment
haleh b 0 Posted April 26, 2006 That is your perception of what this site is all about but in reality this site only serves as an entertainment tool. I am just here to be honest with you to get my work exposed and in that case this site has been very successful. Have I learned anything? Oh well. Let's just say I have a few favorites here whose work I find inspirational. I am going to use your own image to show you how ineffective the whole critique forum is. How come you don't have many devotees to constructive criticism rushing to tell you how to correct your problem here? With that said, I have noticed at least in my case that there are many who choose my work to vent. Maybe it is because they think the nudity makes my images popular so what the hell, let?s go for it. I am not suggesting that was your intention at all but there are fair share of ranting going on. Link to comment
