I'm living in Helsinki and am asking you to correct the missinformation: this building is not a church - and has never been. This is The National Museum of Finland.

Read more here.

The building represents the prevailing museum architecture of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, according to which the various parts of the building reflect the nature of the collections and the different periods of architectural history in Finland. With its granite façade and steatite decoration, the building is one of
Finland's most significant national-romantic works of architecture

Dear Markku,

thank you very much for the information.

Unfortunately those parts on request for critique cannot be corrected.

Nevertheless, there are a number of National Romantic churches from turn-of-the-century, for example the one of Aladar Arkay in Budapest, the Tampere cathedral, to which it is related, and also a church at Gottesauer Platz in Karlsruhe  (PN does not allow me to put links). I thought this is one as well.

I will keep it in mind for future postings (case I have some left).

kind regards

Maria

What do you mean by PN doesn't allow you to put links?

How does the comment window look when you want to write a comment (see the image)?

On your Workspace page, on right side you have a long list of account options, among them WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. Enable it if disablet now to get the extra tools like creating a text link. Follow the illustrated guide included.

Good luck.

NOTE: I forgot to mention that you have two browser windows open to manage this copying of web address into your comment.

thanks a lot!

No, I did not have that window you show.

And, if by chance I have any text including a dot, PN does not let me to post as it thinks it is a link ...

Create the link first then add "dot" = period. Nothing to do with PhotoNet, one of the rules of Web Standard: no period at the end of URL.
