krpradu 125 Posted January 17, 2011 I like the space around her that gives for all composition, and subject position too,a sens of freedom, just my opinion at this, best regards. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 17, 2011 I don't know much about dancing shoes but somehow these don't look right. Unlike Radu I am not so keen on the space in this particular instance. I would be interested in seeing more from this shoot. Link to comment

gfkremer 0 Posted January 17, 2011 Andrew, Very well lit with nice tone and contrast. For me, the dark shoes and the models dark hair create a triangle that frames the model nicely. A lot of dynamism in the pose, but still wonderful grace in her expression and both arms and hands. Great work! Best, GFK Link to comment

andrzejp 7 Posted January 18, 2011 GF Kramer,Thank you very much for your visit and for your comments. You described by feeling about this image very well.Raymond,You are correct. Those are special dance shoes for modern dance or jumping. I could ask Bara to jump without shoes but it is more comfortable and safer to jump with the shoes. To jump so high (she was at least 1 meter above the ground) and do it gracefully is extraordinarily difficult even for a ballerina. Bara is one in a 1000. All the action took a fraction of a second so to capture this was also not an easy task. She looks more gracefully on her way up since her hair is pooled down by inertia so this image was captured about 0.01S before she started her decent. Link to comment
