Without the context of any surroundings, it would be hard to place the season, but the icy blue cast suggests that there's a bit of winter at work here.  Incredibly peaceful!

This was taken last week on the North Thompson Rriver. We have had an abundance of these beautiful birds foraging up and down the river banks. It is a wonderful sight especially when you consider that they were once endangered.

Again, I love the gentleness of the scene, the subject, the small ripples, the colors.   There's a grace and beauty that is soulful.  Unpretentious.  The turned back reminds me of paintings of women bathing, and one sees only the back and long neck.  I grew up with a lovely nude like that on the wall.

Perfect exposure and composition, the ever graceful swan placed just right in the frame. The graduated visibility and textures of the ripples gives the image a great mood of winter and a sense of depth.
