mark_kay 0 Posted January 12, 2003 I took this with a 600mm but slow shutter speeds. I would like your opinions on the this image. Link to comment
jeff_files1 0 Posted January 12, 2003 I like the blurred birds but I think that the water should be sharp to anchor the shot. If nothing is sharp it is just a blurry photo. It is still an interesting shot. Link to comment
evan_mathison 0 Posted April 22, 2003 The title says it all ... How do we convey motion in a fixed image? ... It is through blur of one sort or another ... Here, you composed the blurred focus plane of the birds superimposed over the blur of the water created through the use of shallow focus! ... For me, your image is Very successful ... I particularly like the one and only sharp face just a tad below center field! It's a fine image, and one very expressive of the burst of kinetic energy that a rising flock of birds puts out ... One of my all time favourite bird images ... I would like to have seen it in full colour and as a monochrome too! ... It's coming up shifted about 55 units to CYAN on my monitor as presented ... My thanks, Evan ... Link to comment
