cold night on the lawn
20 second exposure @ f/8. a burst from a 420ex (handheld) was fired by a friend roughly 40 feet away at approx a 45 degree angle off the left of the camera, illuminating the building. i'm sure someone will think this is cropped too tightly, but this is the full frame. i took it from a little alcove-type location at the base of the rotunda at the University of Virginia. yes, a wider angle lens may have yielded a different perspective w/ more coverage, but unfortunately the 50mm was the only lens I had with me at the time. regardless, i'm pleased with it... but holy junk it was cold. this was taken a little before 11pm on 1.10.2003 in 30 degree, windy (hence the cloud movement) conditions.
