Outpost At The Brink Of Extinction

Around 4+ billion years in the future mankind (if still in existance)will finally leave the home planet, Earth. At around that time thesun will expand and then settle back to its red-giant phase and theearth and inner planets will be mostly incinerated.

I expect that most all humans will already have found new homes onother planets orbiting distant suns. In this image we have a solesentinel, ready to make a rapid exit after recording the 'end' of Earth.
