Prematurity

This premature infant beat the odds and lived :o) The baby was born ten weeks early, at a birthweight of 1100 grams. The adult hand is that of a woman nurse. The photo was part of an illustrative story on the fragility and intensivity of care for premature infants. The photo was taken at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
