starvy 7 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi John,I rather prefer the composition to the right. On its own it could easily be one of your most beautiful efforts. This is a challenging model. She is obviously beautiful but the askance look to the left does not bring the best out of her. That casual and disinterested looking down is almost a disappointment for the watcher and there is a yearning for more. The right is simply delightful. Superb framing in having the head very slightly cropped off. If there is a 'best side' to her this is it and the look is as beautiful as any other model you have captured. What could I say about your lighting, skin tone balance and depth of field. These technical aspects are always such masterfully achieved in all your work that one forgets how difficult they can sometimes be. I really feel that the shot to the right shows a photographer at ease with oneself, sure of ones abilities and all that culminates in wonderfully directing the model to a 'on the money' shot. John Peri 1,027 Posted January 11, 2011 A very interesting comment Starvy, thank you. I very often do before and after sequences. The left side I would say is a moment of reflection leading up to the photo on the right .. I feel they compliment each other in a way, but that above all is for the viewer to judge of course. Thank you for your very welcome input and support, John Link to comment
