Thanks Peter! It's actually a chance shot since I was shooting duck and these fellows made such a commotion that I just pointed the lens in that direction and shoot. Got 2 good shots and the aggressor actually missed on the bite. :-) - On the subject of hand holding, it's not that hard once you got used to it. I bought the 500mm because I figuge I can do this (but not the 600 or 400 F2.8) and in the beginining I thought it's too much, went out and bought a tripod and gimbal head but lately I am warning up to this hand holding and got good result. Steve Shinn & SinhNhutNguyen (on this site) also shoot the 500mm hand holding mostly also, btw.
