Frederick,

She is a very pretty girl. I love her dress -- very classy. Your focus, contrast and color saturation are excellent. She has good eye contact with the camera (viewer) and a pleasant expression. The position of her hands make for a very nice pose.

She is thin enough that it really isn't much of a problem to have her facing straight on to the camera. Of course, she would look thinner, more graceful, feminine and elegant if turned at a bit of an angle to the camera.

The blotchy shadows and sunlight on her dress doesn't bother me as much as it does on her skin. Too bad she isn't completely in the shade.

Her make-up looks very nice. Catchlights would make her eyes stand out even more.

You have the background in good focus. The white doors and arch are almost completely showing (she is standing to the side). The white doors and arch are close to the same size as the girl's dress. You have posed the girl off to the side giving the door equal space and therefore equal importance. You could have made the girl the main subject by placing her in front of the doors and throwing the doors out of focus.

Your left and right compositional balance is right heavy. Because of all the space on the girl's right the doors do not add enough weight to balance the total image.

Nice shot,

Mark

I think this is a great concept.  My only wish is that you had set the light on her face a bit better... perhaps one or two steps forward or back.  Otherwise, it is a nice effort... considering the temperature.....)

Frederick,

A simple crop like this would have given you good compositional balance and made the girl the only subject in the frame.
