koval 0 Posted January 8, 2003 Dark? I like it asit is. It may do with some extrea saturation if you think it look too flat for you . But personally I think you have a nice ARTY shot here. Regards PK. Link to comment
jimvanson 0 Posted January 19, 2003 Evenings last bit of sun, a "touch" of Adobe and the exhausts from the thousand or so busses full of tourists that stop here each day, lends a little color to this snapshot of Vancouvers much photographed Stanley Park totem poles. You can see the original shot here; Original Scan For HookNose Original. Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted January 19, 2003 Did you have to ask old Hooknose to sit for this portrait, or did he volunteer? What works the best for me is your background on the left side of the frame -- almost as if this were indeed a carefully arranged studio portait. Nice job. BTW, how do you like the 28-135mm IS? I've been thinking of adding it to my quiver, but am concerned it might be too slow. I've read in the forums that the IS lets you go as slow as a 1/60 second at full extension, which isn't bad.
