You have a very pretty model here and of very pleasant nature, you did exposed here remarkably against the sun set back ground and thats a great skill from you as usual.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing it and wishing you all of the best.

Dale,

She's a cute girl with a wonderful smile. You have focused well and she has nice catchlights. It is good that you have posed her at a slight angle to the camera rather than straight on to the camera. Her skin tone is quite good.

She whould stand out even more if the background was out of focus.

You have a lot of headroom that you could crop out.

She is a vertical subject shot in a horizontal format. You might try moving in closer and shoot her vertically. Moving in closer and filling your frame with the girl would help throw the background out of focus.

Using your built-in camera flash gives you very flat lighting. Judicious use of shadows can add interest and help create an illusion of depth within your photograph.

The bright red draws the viewer's attention away from your subject's face. Avoid bright colors, stripes and bold patterns in clothing. In a portrait the subject’s face is what is most important and nothing should draw the viewer’s attention away from the face.

The advertising (Photo © vancouverphotographer@gmail.com) is not part of the photograph. Your name could be properly placed on a mat surrounding the photograph. Any advertising would be better placed on the back of the photograph.

Nice shot,

Mark

Dale,

Notice how her face stands out much better in black and white. The red doesn't draw your attention away from her face.

Thanks a bunch Rashed and Mark.

@ Mark, hey I appreciate the time you took to give me such detailed insight and some alternative looks to the original posting - I particularly like your b/w rendition and agree. Thanks.
