Two days after Christmas, the snow was still present in areas of London.

The man picked up a cigarette from the ground, crossed the road and

settled on the bench with a can of beer. Thank you for your constructive

comments.

Samrat, seen your portfolio, I would have expected less curch and much more human. For B&W, the dark tree, the white shield, the dark shadowed side of the hedge on it's left, the grey bench and next your nicely contrasting friend together would have had much more impact. Half of the melting snow (spots) on the left  even are "ruining" the shot, in amount not being in balance with the different tones. The vertical shield together with that snow and just one contrasting small pole would have been fine. Yes, I do confess, the telly was just too dull, Olaf. :)

Samrat, you have been able to capture the abject misery and loneliness of the person. There is no shelter for this poor man,on a cold morning, because the  church door is closed.I like the tonal quality of the image, though looks a bit soft on my monitor.

Thank you for your comments. I tried to portray the man against the backdrop of the church and that is perhaps why the photo has come out as it has. This was a person picking up cigarette butts from the ground and rummaging bins; I portrayed him against the poster which presents several joyous occasions, like music, lunch and candlelight carols.

With regard to the tones and contrast features, this is the first photo that I have taken in RAW and post-processed using a trial version of Lightroom. You can say I was getting used to the software (I still am). But thank you for your constructive input. I will try and remember your tips in future. Regards.

Many thanks for your comments. I like the fact that you like this photo but as you'll see from my comment above, I'm still getting used to the software that I've downloaded. You got the thought process that I wanted to convey and that satisfies me. Regards.
