blago 0 Posted January 24, 2003 Simple and powerful, Steve! Just rotate it a little CCW to level the horizon. Blago Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted January 24, 2003 An outstanding capture. The slower shutter speed is perfect. Any slower and all detail would be lost. Great job! Link to comment
wadeproduces 0 Posted February 12, 2003 Exceptional Image. Powerful and emotional, as well as fantasic tonality on the difficult shadow details of the rock and ocean spray. Bravo! Link to comment
nicholas_lindan 2 Posted February 12, 2003 Captures the power of the wave and the beating the rock takes perfectly. The timing of the picture is just on. I once spent several hours and rolls of film trying to capture the explosion of a wave and have since gone back to still life. It looks like a red filter was used, but with a digital camera I imagine the filter is applied in PS? - I'm an old silver in jelly man, so this may be a dumb question. Link to comment
indywatchman 0 Posted February 13, 2003 A polarizing filter was used on camera. The color shot was converted in PS via channel mixer. A curves adjustment was made to increase contrast, then the whole thing was sharpened. Link to comment

laura2 0 Posted February 18, 2003 I love it -- though I am curious -- what shutter speed and settings did you use? This may be built into the picture somewhere. Let me know if you know. :) Link to comment
steel 0 Posted February 22, 2003 Perfectly timed and executed. Very moving. I would love to see a larger version. Link to comment
doug andrews 0 Posted February 24, 2003 I really like how this conveys a sense of power and strength. Well done Link to comment
soumya 0 Posted February 26, 2003 I always dream to capture a scene like this! It is perfect is every way, the polarizer has darkened the sky sufficiently and the surf looks like almost spot lit by sun. Shutter speed is just perfect, not too slow to ruin the texture of the spray. Lastly the volume of water spraying out from the rock is amazing! Link to comment
