Man, someone's New Year is off to a really lousy start..........

It's a great image though! The mouse occupies the right vertical third, and the centerline of the bird the left. Very good composition. The bird's body also makes a great leading line right up to the mouse's head.

Perhaps if the image were a little "richer" in tones and contrast it might have a little more "punch".

Good eye contact with the vole, but wish for a better head angle with the bittern.

Bittern is a tough bird to shoot even without the rat.  I like the way you can see the rats eye and the squeeze on his head.  I looked at your home page and I like the profile shot of the bittern/rat shot much more than this one.  I like Scotts edit on this one.  That being said its all good.
