A black and white conversion of Red Lion 004 to be found in the flower

category. Comments and critiques are most appriciated. I thank you in

advance for your time.

Its difficult to give an unbiased critique for this one simply because I have seen the colour version first, and that version has such strong visual impact.

I still like the shapes textures and tones of the image, and thinking in practical terms of actually hanging them on a wall I would be inclined to go with these B & W  conversions, rather than having something too loud. The B & W images would be decorative tasteful and interesting, but without being obtrusive. The colour version being something I'd rather enjoy viewing in a gallery or in a book.

Alf, your comment here was absolutely profound.  I, truly, had never considered B&W verses color images in the instances that you have stated.  I had never considered a color image itself as "busy" or "garish", but I can visualize now what you are saying.  I have to agree, there are places where a "simple" B&W would be preferable to a color image all else the same.  Thank you for this morsel of enlightenment, you connected with the proper synapse in my brain.
